There is not a character limit for chatbot responses. However, Ocelot recommends the following best practices in order to provide the best user experience:
- Speak student: avoid jargon, acronyms, and abbreviations specific to your institution/department.
- Be direct and concise: use straightforward language.
- Keep it conversational: try not to overwhelm the user with too much information or confuse them with too little.
- Consider future maintenance: direct users to positions instead of specific individuals and use hyperlinks to keep responses clean and evergreen.
