No, you do not need to add clarifying questions to every top-level question. Clarifying questions are optional. You are not required to utilize the clarifying question functionality or to add a clarifying question to any top-level question. Clarifying questions can be added to:
- General library questions
- Custom questions
- Awaiting review questions
Clarifying questions should not be added to top-level questions where the response is the same for all populations or for all campus locations.
When associating a clarifying question with a top-level question in your knowledge base, it is not necessary to utilize all of the possible choices associated with that clarifying question. It is also not necessary to associate multiple clarifying questions with the same top-level question.
Remember that editing a general library question, including by adding clarifying questions, will create a new custom question housed in the custom questions section of your admin portal.
