Content Sharing Best Practices/Use Cases

The purpose of content sharing is to be able to deliver a consistent message from each virtual assistant without having to create and edit content in each individual virtual assistant.

When determining if content should be shared with child bots, it should meet the following criteria:

  • Is the response to this question consistent for all child bots?
  • Would the response benefit from a variable that allows for a custom URL, sentence, or terminology that may be different for each child bot?

Example: One school could refer to someone in the academic advising office as "Academic Advising Advisor", at another school they are called an "Academic Advising Counselor", in this case, it would be beneficial to use the !acadv-advisor variable.

Content that has the following characteristics, should not use the “Content Sharing” functionality:

  • The response varies significantly per institution

  • You would like the individual schools to take responsibility for the responses
